IGNOU has extended the assignment submission deadline for the December term-end examination until 31 Oct 2024. The university has given more than a month for students to submit assignments without hurrying.

First, the submission deadline was October 3 and now IGNOU extended this date till October 31. This university has also notified on its official website that students can easily submit their assignments without hurry.

Students need to submit handwritten assignments to score the credit scores in the examination. This extended deadline is for both ODL & Online programs so every student needs to be aware of all the dates issued by IGNOU.

Steps to submit the assignments in the right manner are:

Things to make sure before submitting the assignments:

  1. Numbering the pages of the assignments
  2. Bundling
  3. Put the IGNOU ID card photostat
  4. Start writing the assignments on the basic questions
  5. Try to do the surveys regarding your questions
  6. Mention about the IGNOU on the front page of the assignment

Students will follow the procedure adopted while preparing assignments submission on an offline basis:

  • Assignments may be submitted to either the study centre or the regional centre as per the decision of the regional centre.
  • Contact details such as program code and course code enrollment number, email, and mobile number are to be mentioned in the assignment
  • If hard copies alone are being accepted as per the instructions received from the Regional Centre, post a letter with the handwritten and signed assignment to the address given.
  • If soft copies are accepted, then these should be signed and scanned.
  • You would know which RC you have chosen as your RC. In that case, email your assignments to [email protected].
  • All assignments for all courses should be sent in one document.
  • Do not send page-wise and do not compile together two assignments of different courses in one document.

If your Regional Centre has asked you to upload Assignments online, you can follow the procedure herein:

  • The Google Form Link for uploading assignments for the particular Study Centre is available on the website of the Regional Centre. Scan all assignments neatly and beforehand. You use either the scanner or mobile Cam scan. Every PDF has to be clear and bright.
  • Each subject will need a different PDF. An example is, if you have 9 subjects, you will have 9 PDFs that you submit.
  • Remember that subject assignment will be submitted only once, so be careful in attaching the right document and the right subject. Files that have been submitted cannot be revised or deleted. In case you are trying to upload the same subject PDF multiple times, it may lead to a discrepancy in marking and may affect your result
  • Also ensure that student details like Enrolment Number, Email ID, Name, and ID Proof are entered correctly.
  • Cross-verify the details with PDF files before sending.

Monitor the status of their assignments once in a while by accessing the website of IGNOU or contacting the study centre to know about the receipt of assignments, processing, and declaration of the results. Normally it takes one or two months before you receive the updated status. Respond immediately if you find any anomalies or delays in the processing process.
