For the first time, the University of San Diego’s online master's programs are now accessible for students outside their own country. Applications close on August 1, 2025. For Indian working professionals, the University of San Diego (USD) has introduced a set of completely online master's degree courses with a focus on popular areas of technology such as cybersecurity, data science, and artificial intelligence.

More than ever before, international students from India are now eligible to take up the courses that were available to United States resident students only. Students can learn at their own pace as they balance their work and personal responsibilities since the programs are online, asynchronous, and take 20 months to complete.

There are four new degrees in the new suite:
  1. Applied Artificial Intelligence Master's Degree
  2. Master of Science in Applied Data Science
  3. Master of Science in Cybersecurity Engineering
  4. Master of Science in Cybersecurity Leadership and Operations

Based on the highly fluent English-speaking country, these online master's degrees are taught in English and are academically equivalent to on-campus degrees. English proficiency has to be established by the IELTS (a minimum score of 7), Duolingo (a minimum score of 120), or two years' prior English-language training.

Curriculum is developed by academic experts with real-world industry experience and is updated annually to ensure that it remains relevant to evolving market needs and technology developments.

The University of San Diego has partnered with GradRight, an education platform, to assist Indian applicants with admissions advising and student support services.

Enrollment, Cost, And Eligibility

To reduce entry barriers, scholarships and financial assistance are available to eligible Indian students for the 20-month program costing approximately INR 10.49 lakh.

August 1, 2025, is the deadline for the Fall, and admissions are open now. The classes start on September 2, 2025. The following are the requirements the candidates must have if they want to apply:

  • A four-year undergraduate degree that has at least one second division, or
  • An undergraduate first division degree that takes three years

Moreover, there is an optional two-week campus immersion at USD's San Diego campus where the students are able to network, meet in person with their fellow students and faculty, and observe firsthand the university environment.
