Dated Oct 1, 2024, IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) announced the re-extension in the registration date of the academic session in July 2024. The next date of the registration closing will be 15 Oct 2024 while the previous date of registration closing was 30 September 2024. 

Students who were not able to register for the ODL/Online courses offered by the IGNOU can register themselves now in these few days of October month. Along with the latest tweet of IGNOU, the registration extension will be applied online for the ODL/Online programs except for all the semester-based or certificate programs. 

 

All the candidates need to apply online on the official website of ignou.ac.in with valid documents of academic records such as high school certificates or graduation certificates and necessary details of bank statements for fee payment. You’ll have to pay the fees online using the official IGNOU portal. 

 

Eligibility Criteria to get admission are:

Below given are the admission criteria for the ODL/Online courses:

  • For UG Courses- Students must have a 10+2 certificate from a recognized board like CBSE, ICSE, etc.
  • For PG Courses- Students must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university will a valid score of respective courses. 

 

Required Documents to process the admissions

All the candidates need to prepare some particular documents with the mentioned size before applying for the courses in IGNOU. Documents are listed below:

  1. Scanned Passport size photograph of 100 KB.
  2. Scanned Signature less than the size of 100 KB.
  3. Scanned documents of the respective qualification either 10+2 or graduation less than 200 KB.
  4. Experience certificate related to the academics or field not less than 200 KB.
  5. Scanned copy of category certificate such as SC/ST/OBC.

Steps of Registration

Students need to follow these steps to register with the IGNOU:

  1. Visit the official website of IGNOU.
  2. Start the registration process after clicking on the registration link mentioned on the website. 
  3. Log in and fill out the application form 
  4. Attach the required documents and pay the application fee. 
  5. Submit the application form.
