To strengthen two Lakh children in schools and institutions, such as the "eco-warriors", the Delhi government has launched a city-wide eco-consciousness program. Through youth participation, TERI (The Energy and Resource Institute) tries to provide initiative, stability, and climate action in collaboration.

In an important step towards environmental training, the Delhi government announced a comprehensive eco-sensitization campaign on Thursday, which will equip about two Lakh children to become "eco-warriors". In the Delhi-NCR region, the program will be implemented in schools and institutions.

The well-known indian organization named The Energy and Resource Institute (TERI), with more than 40 years of experience in sustainable development, will complete the campaign. The program will be implemented in around 2000 eco-cubes in educational institutions throughout the region with a budget of Rs 40 lakh. The event was led by the Minister for Environment, Forest and Wildlife of Delhi, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, whose initiative is a catalyst for long-term behavioral change instead of an awareness campaign.

“These students will lead climate work and not know about it," Sirsa said. The program involves integrating stability into everyday student life, which will run from June to November 2025, and includes many activities such as history, practical environmental actions, interactive games, and innovative outreach initiatives.

A mix of students and teachers, creating a team of 80 trained "Paryavaran Sanrakshaks” (Environmental Guardians), who will work as environmental leaders in their respective institutions, is a remarkable aspect of the program. These people will receive special training and help increase the campaign by educating others and mentioning colleagues on environmental issues.

Sirsa further emphasized that the initiative is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to reduce pollution through public participation and ground commitment at the ground level. "We go beyond enforcement and infrastructure - we invest in education and authority," he said.

The program is an important component of Delhi's overall environmental strategy, including a civil-employed initiative to combat pollution and climate change, regulatory functions, and the development of public mobility. Officials confirmed that the government's dedication to environmental rules has been shown by the direct participation of students in climate activism.
