The 100-day report card to the Delhi government includes free teaching, online learning, and more.

The administration led by Rekha Gupta has initiated many favorable welfare- and education-related initiatives in just 100 days. The goal is to help and lift through initiatives ranging from housing construction and scholarship distribution to the establishment of online schools, as well as free coaching.

The Minister of Education in Delhi, Ashish Sood, presented a comprehensive report card on the first 100 days of the new administration on Tuesday, emphasizing the implementation of widespread measures to pursue inclusive and excellent education. Along with emphasizing digital infrastructure, competitive exam coaching, and regulatory openness, the minister presented several programs designed to support schools and students.

College grants and student financial assistance

The government of Delhi has paid the first installment of a grant of Rs 274.34 crore to 12 colleges affiliated with the University of Delhi, aiming to improve higher education. In addition, bank accounts of 1,300 students have received a direct credit of Rs 19 crore through the Delhi High Technical Education Assistance Scheme, and guaranteed financial assistance to the applicants of technical education.

The Delhi School Education (Openness in the Determination and Regulation of Fees) Bill, 2025, is a proposal from the government aimed at improving the openness of the operation of private schools. In order to reduce financial stress on the parents, a change in school uniform pricing has also been proposed.

Priority for housing, cleanliness, and welfare

Through the Antyodaya mission, the government has improved its highest priority. As part of this effort, 2500 houses are designed for members of financially disadvantaged groups. 700 crore rupees are set aside separately for the construction of toilets to improve sanitation in slums.

Along with the introduction of access to benefits under Prime Minister Surya Ghar Yojana, power supplements have also been implemented. The government has ensured that the admission process is transparent with the first financially weaker section (EWS) category, and no scams have occurred to date with 28,000 young people.
